Change isn't always good?

With high-tech bombarding in education situation, some of us are ready for change, while others are not. I think that some teachers are feeling like they are being forced to change. While I believe that change can be a good thing, I don't necessarily feel that it is always good. Frustration is only going to force some teachers to resist even more. Following is an American teacher talking about his feeling of CHANGE. He says:

"I agree that change is not always good, and that we shouldn't force anybody to change. But I do think change is inevitable. And I am beginning to believe (not quite there yet) that even teachers who have been successful in the past will not be successful in the future if they continue to do what "they've always done." I just think they will not be giving students the best possible education if they don't incorporate the resources that technology and the Internet provide. I also worry that they will not be preparing students for the future that they will be living in - the world truly is changing dramatically. "

I have to say I cannot agree with him any more.

Yes, I agree that change is not always bad, especially with the technology bombarding aroud us everyday.

And the ways of teaching has changed a lot with the help of the technology. But I have to say that witht the multimedia of teaching, there are a lot of research conducting showing that the many disadvantages of the teaching with the multimedia have appeared.

So I don't say that change is not good or technology is not good. I am just confusing how far the teaching is going with the technology or what we are supposed to do with the new technology in the teaching methods.

And the next question is that how to balance the teaching and new technology in our daily teaching since we have so much demanding work to do.

You have raised a question that I'm also interested in: how should we balance teaching with new tech? I don't suppose there should be a fixed percentage in how much tech we should incororpate in our class. It, in my opinion, may depend on which situation we are in. In addition, our use of tech, to a large extent, is related to the facilities in the school where we are working. Also, I think this has something to do with what courses we are teaching and perhaps we use more with some and less with other. I have to admit I've met this balancing problem in my working situations. It is really hard sometimes to balance the two well. But with careful consideration and planning, we still can come up with a comparatively balanced idea of how we make tech help our teaching. It just needs more time to think about. However, if we are good at new tech, that will make the planning of lessons easier.
